After all these slice of life recommendations, I’m surprised I never recommended what I consider on the the quintessences of the slice-of-life-comedy genre.
What else could it be but Azumanga Daioh.

Azumanga Daioh is another of those great series that captures the essence of everyday living but delivers the content in a humorous manner. From the borderline retarded antics of Osaka and her Kansai dialect to Tomo’s overly energetic self or the ridiculousness of Chiyo.
Of course Azumanga isn’t all about slice of life. It has random moments of of trippy craziness in which all you can think is “What in the world is going on?!”. But those moments only add to the crazy humor of the show. And of course, seeing Chiyo in a penguin suit just turns you into a Moeblob if you watch it too long.

I did, despite my initial impressions, enjoy this series. Being a 21 year old male, I was wary of the cutsie design. But if you are able to look past that, this is a series that almost anyone can enjoy

THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE ANIME! GREAT RECOMENTATION! Every episode leaves you in stitches and Osaka’s antics is what truly encapuslates what ’slice-of-life’ comedy is all about!!!
