I’ve suggested many genres – shounen, harem, sports, slice of life, action, you name it. But the one genre I found that hasn’t gotten much attention is the romance. Of course, this is because the audience for it is smaller than other genres but still – here’s a recommendation for all of you romance junkies.
This week’s recommendation is Nodame Cantabile.
Nodame Cantabile takes place at an music school, which gives the atmosphere when watching this series more depth. As you watch the series, the moods that the music brings heighten each emotion experienced and, of course, the pursuit of music is what drives the whole storyline.
Like any good romance anime, Nodame Cantabile relies heavily on the fact that the character personalities are very interesting and match (or should I say clash) with each other. The freedom of Nodame is always foiled with the calculated, orthodox Chiaki, which leads to humor and plot development.

seen this a long time ago and seen the second season to really good anime the third season will be coming out and final season as well in 2010

Definitely one of the best comedy series that I’ve ever watched.

pretty good..better than most but for comedy/romance i’d go with Skip beat! (personal rec but don’t have to listen to me) it’s still only finished season 1 and i’m hoping for season two soon but it’s a comedy romance as well with an interesting back story but funnier scenes imo
